NEW NATIONAL STUDY EXAMINES SPORTS-RELATED FRACTURES IN US HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES
A new study by the Center for Injury Research and Policy
found that fractures were more likely to result in 3 weeks or more time lost or
a medical disqualification than all other injuries combined.

NEW NATIONAL STUDY EXAMINES PEDIATRIC INJURIES ASSOCIATED WITH HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS
A new study conducted by the Center for Injury Research and
Policy of The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital found that
from 1990-2006, an estimated 267,269 children younger than 6 years were treated
in hospital emergency departments for injuries related to household cleaning
products. Over the 17-year study period, researchers noted a 46 percent
decrease in the number of injuries.

STUDY EXAMINES INJURY-RELATED CHILDHOOD MORTATLITY IN CHINESE MIGRANT HOUSEHOLDS
According to a recently published study in the journal of Injury Prevention, injury-related
mortality rates were significantly higher among migrant children than their
non-migrant counterparts.
