MIDWEST INJURY PREVENTION ALLIANCE
The Midwest Injury
Prevention Alliance (MIPA) is an organization of injury professionals from
states in federal Health and Human Services Region V (Illinois, Indiana,
Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin) that works collaboratively to reduce
unintentional and intentional injury-related death and disability.
The
Center for Injury Research and Policy in Columbus, Ohio, helped establish
MIPA and convened its first Summit in May 2011 with support from its Injury
Control Research Center grant from the National Center for Injury Prevention
and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The purpose of MIPA is to
promote the development and sharing of injury prevention planning, evaluation,
education and policy strategies, training, research, and other initiatives
among members of the MIPA network.
